BTCCSquare news:

French crypto tax platform Waltio suffered a significant data breach, exposing sensitive user information including email addresses and tax report data. The Paris prosecutor's office has launched an investigation, assigning the case to the National Cyber Unit of the Gendarmerie.

While no funds or private keys were compromised, authorities warn of potential targeted scams leveraging the stolen data. This incident underscores persistent security vulnerabilities in crypto-adjacent services, even those operating outside blockchain infrastructure.

The breach follows a pattern of increasing cyberattacks against French crypto entities, raising fresh concerns about user trust as tax compliance tools gain mainstream adoption.
